About the site

Is Before It Rugs free?

Yes. The live board, every coin's grade and evidence, the survivors leaderboard and all the guides in our Learn section are free, with no account needed.

Why don't you ask me to connect a wallet?

Because we don't need it. Every check uses public on-chain data, so there is nothing a wallet connection would add. We will never ask you to connect a wallet, sign anything or share a seed phrase, and anyone who does is not us. See wallet safety.

Where does your data come from?

Token safety reports come from RugCheck. Market data such as price, liquidity, volume, buys and sells comes from DexScreener. We find new coins through DexScreener's public feeds and GeckoTerminal's new and trending pools. The full method explains how each one is used.

How often does the board update?

Market data refreshes every 10 seconds. Safety checks re-run every 10 minutes for each coin while it is on the live board, and can take a little longer when RugCheck's rate limits are reached. Coins leave the board after about 8 hours unless they are still trading heavily.

Are you affiliated with DexScreener, pump.fun, Jupiter or RugCheck?

No. We are an independent UK-run site. We use public data from RugCheck, DexScreener and GeckoTerminal, and we write guides about tools like pump.fun and Jupiter, but none of them review, approve or pay for anything we publish.

Is my data collected?

As little as possible. You can use the site without an account, and we never ask for wallet details. If you sign up for alerts we keep only what is needed to send them. Our privacy notice sets out exactly what we hold and why.

Grades and checks

What do the A to F grades mean?

Each warning sign we find adds points, and the total becomes a grade. F means 6 or more points, E is 4 to 5, D is 3, C is 2 and B is 1. A means zero points on a coin with at least 500 holders that is at least 30 minutes old. See what our grades mean.

Does an A grade mean a coin is safe?

No. An A means we did not find the specific warning signs we look for. Insiders can hide behind unlinked wallets, teams can sell slowly and hype can simply end. Read can a coin that passes every check still rug before trusting any grade.

Why does a coin show a question mark instead of a grade?

A question mark means we have not received its safety report yet. We request reports once a coin has at least $3,000 of liquidity (or $3,000 of trading in the last hour on a launch curve), and RugCheck limits how many we can request each minute, so a new coin can wait a few minutes. Smaller coins stay unchecked unless you paste their address into the search box. We don't grade on market data alone.

Can I check any Solana coin, not just the ones on the board?

Yes. Paste the coin's contract address into the search box and we will run our checks on it. For tokens more than 14 days old, only the token-level checks are scored. Always search by contract address rather than name, because copycat tokens often share the same ticker.

What is a bundle?

A bundle is when one team buys a new coin through many wallets at the same moment, so one big holder looks like lots of small ones. We flag it when three or more top holders have near-identical bags. See bundled launches.

What does the copycat flag mean?

It means another coin we track with the same ticker was created first. It is a prompt to check you have the coin you meant, not proof that the newer coin is bad. See copycat tokens.

How do I report a mistake in a grade?

Email us through the contact page with "Correction" in the subject line, the coin's contract address and what you think is wrong. We check it against the source data and fix what is wrong. Our corrections policy explains what happens next.

Trading basics

I'm new to memecoins. Where should I start?

Start with what a memecoin is and how memecoin trading works, then read what a rug pull is. Only ever use money you can afford to lose completely.

Do you give financial advice or tell me what to buy?

No. We publish evidence about coins and explain how to read it. We never tell anyone to buy, sell or hold anything, and nothing on the site is financial advice.

Can I get alerts?

Browser notifications and email alerts are coming soon, and both will be free. We don't run a Telegram group or channel, so any Telegram account claiming to be us is not us.

How do I protect myself if a coin starts to fall?

Decide your exit before you buy. Our guides on setting a stop loss on Jupiter and taking profits cover the practical steps.

Money, products and support

How does the site make money?

From ads, one clearly labelled sponsor at a time, our own paid guides and optional SOL tips. Sponsors never affect grades, and we don't accept sponsorship from tokens or trading bots.

Do you sell signals, calls or your own token?

Never. We don't sell trading signals or paid calls, and there is no Before It Rugs token. Anyone offering one in our name is not us.

What is the field guide?

It is our own paid PDF guide to checking a memecoin before you buy, available from the shop. It teaches checks and habits, it doesn't recommend any coin, and everything on the live board stays free whether you buy it or not.

Can I get a refund on a digital download?

Yes. We handle refunds. You can cancel and get a full refund within 14 days of buying. Email hello@beforeitrugs.com with your order number. Faulty files are always replaced or refunded. See the terms.

How can I support the site?

Sharing it helps most. You can also send an optional SOL tip to the tip address shown on this website. Tips are gifts and can't be refunded, so only use the address shown on our site, never one sent to you in a message.

How do I get my guide after paying?

Straight away. As soon as your payment goes through, the download opens on screen and a download link is emailed to you, so you can get it again later on any device. Check your spam folder if the email hasn't arrived within a few minutes.

Is the checkout secure?

Yes. Payments are handled by our checkout provider through Stripe and PayPal over an encrypted connection. Your card or PayPal details go straight to them and never touch our site, so we never see or store them. For our guides, we will never ask for payment in crypto, by DM or by bank transfer.
