Each bar is one day of launches, by UTC date. A day appears once almost all of its coins are a full day old.
What is the Rug Rate?
The Rug Rate is the share of new Solana memecoins that collapsed within 24 hours of launch. A coin counts as collapsed when its price fell below a tenth of its highest price, or when the liquidity in its trading pool fell below $1,000 after it left the launchpad. We follow every new coin our live board picks up, thousands a day, and record where each one stood a day after launch.
Is every collapse a rug pull?
No. Some collapses are rug pulls, where insiders pull the liquidity or sell a large share of the supply into buyers. Others are coins nobody kept buying. From the outside, both look the same on a chart a day later, so we count what happened, not why. To see the warning signs behind a single coin, use the free rug check.
Why do most new memecoins go quiet?
Most new coins never collapse dramatically. They simply stop trading: the launch buzz fades and fewer than $5,000 a day changes hands. Together, collapsed and quiet coins are the large majority every day, which is why our free chapter on why most memecoins go to zero starts from the assumption that a new coin is worth nothing until proven otherwise.

How we count
- A day is the UTC day a coin was launched. Coins launched more than 6 hours before our board first saw them are left out, as are SOL, stablecoins, wrapped tokens and tokenised stocks.
- Each coin gets one reading, 24 hours after launch: collapsed, gone quiet or still trading. These are the same definitions our scorecard and rug replays use.
- A day is shown once at least 97% of its coins have their 24-hour reading. Days when our board was offline are left out.
