Press and data desk

For journalists and researchers. Who runs Before It Rugs, how our numbers are made, how to cite them, the latest headline figures on Solana memecoin rug pulls, and how to ask for charts or data.

Updated 24 October 2026

Before It Rugs is a free UK website that checks new Solana memecoins for the warning signs of a rug pull, and records what happens to them afterwards. If you're writing about memecoins, rug pulls or crypto scams, you're welcome to use our numbers. This page tells you where they come from and how to cite them.

Who we are

  • Independent and UK-based. Before It Rugs is run by one person in the UK, a designer and developer. More on the about page.
  • Free and public. The live board, the rug check and every guide are free. No account and no wallet connection.
  • Evidence, not tips. We grade coins from A to F on warning signs found in public on-chain data. We don't tell anyone what to buy or sell, there is no Before It Rugs token, and nobody can pay to change a grade.
  • Wallets, not people. Our records show creator wallets and what happened to their coins. We don't try to identify who controls them, and we don't accuse named people or projects.

How the numbers are made

Every figure on this page comes from our own records of new Solana memecoins, built from public data supplied by DexScreener, GeckoTerminal and RugCheck. The full method is on the methodology page, including the points behind every grade and what the checks can't see.

The terms we use:

  • New coin: a coin we first saw within 6 hours of its launch, with a market cap under $10 million.
  • Collapsed: down 90% or more from the highest price we recorded, or its liquidity pool emptied.
  • Failed within a day: collapsed, or ended its first day at least half below its high.
  • Still standing: at least $5,000 traded in the last 24 hours, at least $5,000 of liquidity (or still on a launch curve), and not down 90% or more from its high.
  • On the launchpad: still trading on a launch curve, such as pump.fun's, when we first checked it. Left the launchpad means it had already moved to an ordinary trading pool.
  • Identical bags: three or more of the top 20 holders, each with 1% or more, holding near-identical amounts. It's a common sign of a bundled launch.

Our read: the most useful numbers here are the base rates, because they show how often coins carrying a given sign failed, using a sample size you can see. They describe what happened to past coins. They are not predictions about any coin.

Latest numbers

As of 24 October 2026. Our current grading rules have applied since 21 October 2026, and the sample grows every day, so check the live pages or ask us for a fresh copy before you publish.

Lines you can quote

  • "Of 753 coins Before It Rugs first checked after they left the launchpad, 93% collapsed or ended their first day at least half below their high, as of 24 October 2026."
  • "Coins with identical bags failed within a day 84% of the time, against 20% without, as of 24 October 2026."
  • "Of 17,208 new Solana memecoins Before It Rugs followed for at least a day, 100 were still standing, as of 24 October 2026."
  • "8% of coins where Before It Rugs found no red flags collapsed within a day anyway, as of 24 October 2026."

Where to see them live

  • Scorecard: how each grade has done, misses included.
  • What survived: new coins still standing after a day, three days and a week.
  • Serial launchers: creator wallets with three or more coins in our records, and what happened to them.

What the numbers don't show

  • The sample is young. Our records under the current rules start on 21 October 2026. Rates will move as more coins reach a day old.
  • Only coins we saw. We follow coins that appear on DexScreener and GeckoTerminal. Coins that never reach those feeds aren't counted.
  • Good grades aren't safety. A coin with no red flags can still collapse, as the 8% line shows.
  • Wallet records aren't proof of intent. A wallet whose coins keep collapsing is a pattern, not proof that anyone acted dishonestly.

How to cite us

Please name Before It Rugs, link to beforeitrugs.com (or the page the number came from), and give the "as of" date. For example:

Source: Before It Rugs (beforeitrugs.com), records of new Solana memecoins, as of 24 October 2026.

Please don't describe our grades as advice or as a prediction that a coin will or won't rug, and please don't present a creator wallet's record as evidence about a named person.

Charts and data on request

We can send:

  • charts of any figure on this page, in your house size, as PNG or SVG;
  • the base-rate tables behind them, with sample sizes;
  • a refreshed copy of the table above on the day you publish;
  • a short plain-English explanation of a pattern, such as bundled launches or serial launchers, checked against our data.

We don't share personal data, and we don't name the people behind wallets.

How to contact us

Email hello@beforeitrugs.com with "Press" in the subject line, your deadline and what you need. Before It Rugs is run by one person, so the earlier you write, the better. We read every message. See contact for more.

This page is information, not financial advice. Memecoins are extremely high risk and most go to zero.
